Wrap Up of MECOC 2024!

The 3rd Middle East Metallurgy Corrosion and Coatings Conference (MECOC) was another successful event for Cathodic Protection Co. Ltd this year. In case you didn't already know, MECOC serves as an opportunity to bring together industry leaders and experts from around the globe to delve into the latest advancements in metallurgy, corrosion and coatings technology. CPCL were honoured to not only be exhibiting at the event for the first time, but also as an Associate Sponsor supporting the event. Our Sales & Marketing Director, Stuart Martin and Anti-Fouling Product Manager, Matthew Lamb proudly represented CPCL at the event. Accompanying us at the booth was our agents from Al Mazroui Engineering, who's offices are based in Abu Dhabi, they provide cathodic protection and anti-fouling for the UAE. Also joining us, were our partners from Automa, Italy who are experts in remote monitoring and control of the Water, Oil and Gas pipeline sectors. The event took place from the 6th - 8th February at the Rixos Marino hotel, see a run down of each day below!

Day 1

The first day of MECOC 2024 kicked off with a welcome address by Vice President of the ADNOC Distribution, Juma Al Maskari.  During the address, CPCL was honored with the Sponsorship Appreciation Trophy for our support as an Associate Sponsor. It was an exciting moment as Stuart Martin went onto the stage to receive the award, handed over by Maskari. Throughout the rest of the day, participants engaged in insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and explored the latest innovations in cathodic protection. It was a day filled with energy and enthusiasm as the event set off on a promising start.

Day 2 

Day two of MECOC 2024 had a focus on presentations and key notes. Automa were proud to see their Product Manager, Ivano Magnifico, presenting his technical paper on  "New Challenges for Cathodic Protection in a 4.0 World: Embracing Digitalization and Automation for Enhanced Corrosion Management." The paper highlighted advantages such as improved corrosion management efficiency, reduced operational costs, and extended service life for critical assets. Meanwhile, we welcomed Simone Tremolada, Sales Director of our partners, De Nora  to join us at our booth.  Simone, a close friend of CPCL,  discussed further partnership opportunities with Stuart, and networked with attendees together.

Day 3

As MECOC 2024 drew to a close, on the third and final day of the event, our team enjoyed further engagement in last-minute discussions and forging new connections, until the event came to an end at 2pm. Wrapping up their Abu Dhabi trip, Stuart Martin and Matthew Lamb visited the offices of our Agents,  Al Mazroui Engineering Company, to discuss future collaboration opportunities with them.
