Cathodic Protection Co. Ltd. (CPCL) was one of the first companies in the UK, set up specifically to provide equipment and engineering services for the cathodic protection of high-pressure gas & oil pipelines, marine structures and storage facilities.

Today the company operates in six continents and combines consultancy, design and manufacture of bespoke materials and systems, with an after-sales service that is second to none. Cathodic Protection Co. Ltd. (CPCL) also leads the market in the field of marine electrolytic anti-fouling systems, with the Cuprion range being used in over 30 countries worldwide.

Chris Martin Managing Director

Chris has worked in the CP industry for 20 years including 7 years at management level within CPCL. As part of his professional development Chris completed the Advance development program at the Cranfield School of Management in 2018/19 and holds a National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH). He is responsible for the day to day operation of CPCL, supporting all departments in the timely delivery of the company’s products and services to clients. Chris also supports in the strategic direction of the business and plays a leading role in building and developing key business relationships.

Dr. Dan Marshall Cathodic Protection Engineering Technical Director

Dan has over 25 years’ experience in the corrosion industry. He obtained a PhD in Corrosion Science from The Corrosion and Protection Centre, UMIST UK, in 2000. Dan is a Member of The Institute of Corrosion; and is ISO 15257 certificated as a Level 4 Senior Cathodic Protection Engineer. Within CPCL he is the Cathodic Protection Engineering Manager in the CP Systems/Project Department covering the design of CP systems, submission of technical and commercial quotations & project management.

Stuart Martin Sales and Marketing Director

Stuart has worked in the CP industry in excess of 15 years and is our main point of contact for all enquiries into the business. Stuart is responsible for the management of material sales, as well as servicing our key partner product lines. He also plays a strategic role in the development of new international markets, as well as serving our existing client base, in the preparation and submittal of materials sales quotations and bid packages.

Adam Weatherill Operations Manager

Adam has a BA (Hons) in Business Management and over 15 years’ experience working at CPCL. He is responsible for the day to day running of a supply chain management team, delivering orders to locations throughout the world. Activities involve design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply-chain activities, from initial receipt of raw materials, right through to delivery of consigned materials and equipment to the customers premises.

Marcus Hardy Technical Manager

Marcus has been with CPCL for over 15 years, initially in the role of Production Manager, moving to Technical Manager in 2011. Marcus is responsible the engineering, design, and manufacture of all the company’s products, working closely with customers and other departments to ensure that clients specifications and requirements are met, along with maintaining the quality and performance standards our customers expect.

Ed Sparks Sales Manager

Ed has over 20 years’ experience in the cathodic protection industry, during which time he has developed an extensive knowledge of CP applications, particularly steel in concrete CP, and the wider industry. Ed is responsible for major project sales, focusing on securing major contracts and managing key accounts.

Chris Pimm Field Operations Manager

Chris Pimm has over 15 years experience in the cathodic protection industry and is a qualified Senior CP Technician. Chris has extensive experience working on projects overseas, in countries including Madagascar, Falkland Island, Kazakhstan, Ireland and Turkey. Chris' experiences now assists our Field Engineering department, through the management of our field engineers and taking on the responsibility for all commercial and technical aspects of the department

Rob Mason Technical Design Manager

Rob has been with CPCL since 2011. He holds qualification in CompEx Ex12A - Design Engineers and CompEx 14 – Responsible Person. Rob has significant hands-on experience in the building, testing and installation of Transformer Rectifiers (TR), placing him in the ideal position to move into product design. As Technical Design Manager, Rob's role is to ensure customers' needs are met both commercially and technically. He has also travelled extensively to sites worldwide.

Matthew Lamb BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Engineering Anti-Fouling Product Manager

Matthew has a BEng (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering and previously worked within the pump industry. With over 20 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of marine anti-fouling systems, he ensures that all our anti-fouling systems are designed, engineered, and manufactured according to client specifications. Matthew has worked on projects for major oil & gas companies around the world, including; Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Australia, USA and Indonesia.

Simon Filmore Cathodic Protection Engineer

Simon has over 30 years’ experience in the cathodic protection industry and is qualified in electrical installations. A member of ICorr, he is one of our most experienced design engineers and has extensive site experience in the UK, Middle East, North Africa, Central Africa, Europe and Asia. Simon's experience in sacrificial and impressed current cathodic protection systems covers design, site surveys, installation, commissioning, monitoring and maintenance.

Alessandro Bonetti (BSc, MSc) Cathodic Protection Engineer

Alessandro has an MSc in Materials Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. He is ISO 15257 certificated as a Level 4 Senior CP Engineer for underground and immersed structures, marine metallic structures and inner surfaces of metallic container structures. Alessandro has over 15 years’ experience in the corrosion industry and presently works in the project department on the design of CP systems, technical and commercial quotations and site activities. He has worked extensively around the world, both on and offshore, including Italy, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Turkey, Egypt, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Michael Pape TR Test Engineer

Michael has a NVQ Level 2 in performing engineering operations and practices. He has been working within the cathodic protection industry, building, inspecting, fault finding and repairing transformer rectifiers since 2010. Michael is mainly based in our Grantham workshop however has extensive site experience worldwide.

Jordan Hemming Software Engineer

Jordan has a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Manchester University and joined CPCL in March 2014.  He has over 15 years’ experience in the development of remote control and monitoring systems for the cathodic protection industry.

Jonathan Moss Senior CP Technician

Jonathan is certified ICorr CP Level 3, he also has a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Jonathan has been with CPCL for over 15 years and has had a wide range of experience, working on some of CPCL’s biggest contracts. These include the Thames Barrier, Immingham Oil Terminal and for Interserve Defence in the Falkland Islands.

Angie Duarte Cathodic Protection Engineer

Angie has a BSc in Metallurgical Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander; she also has a NACE CP1: Cathodic Protection Tester qualification. Angie has been a valued CPCL team member since 2022, as a CP Engineer, she excels not only in global CIPS and DCVG projects but also in managing survey data and creating reports for clients. Angie’s latest accomplishment at CPCL is achieving her Level 3 Cathodic Protection certification from ICORR. With 4+ years in field-based cathodic protection, she's conducted inspections worldwide, including Akrotiri, Cyprus. Angie has attended conferences like AI World in Texas and Smart Grid Days, Italy.

 

Allan Gray Senior Sales Team Member

Allan has been with CPCL since 2016. Allan’s role was initially in internal sales, evolving in 2018 to include external sales. Allan’s prime responsibility is in producing and submitting material sales quotes for major oil and gas companies. As his is a customer facing role, Allan has direct involvement with projects, predominantly in the middle east but also with other worldwide connections.
