G17 Responsibility for CPCL’s Tiago Rosa
In an industry where safety and quality have become essential components in design and service delivery, Cathodic Protection Co Ltd is delighted that one of its most experienced CP engineers, Tiago Rosa, has been accredited with G17 status for cathodic protection by National Grid as a design appraiser and approver.
To manage the processes for appraising and approving designs, modifications and repairs to the National Grid network, a register of engineering experts has been assigned responsibility to ensure the quality and safety of all installation design. This group is approved to work within the G17 management framework and will appraise and approve all elements of a design project, including adherence to standards, prior to its implementation. Tiago had to pass stringent assessment himself before he was accepted for the role, but his NACE Level 4 certification is a good indication that he is up for the job.
As well as his G17 responsibility, Tiago is also registered as part of the SGN PS5 process management in a similar role, with responsibility for ensuring that processes are in place for managing new works, modifications and repairs on SGN’s gas network.
CPCL is rightly proud to have one of the most qualified and experienced engineering teams in the industry – as demonstrated by these external overseeing appointments.
